Position Description
Tax Advisors of Cary is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant (CPA or EA) to join our growing firm with a national client base. Our Senior Tax Accountant’s primary responsibilities include the preparation and review of business and individual income tax returns – Federal and multi-state tax research projects and implementation of tax structure and tax planning. Successful candidates will be self-starters who are able to work independently, as well as contribute to the team effort and provide superior client service. The desired candidates are detail-oriented tax professionals who possesses an in-depth knowledge of partnership & corporate taxation and have experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals. Qualifications - Senior Accountant:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Tax Accountant
- Experience with Lacerte is a plus
- Must have experience preparing forms 1120S, 1065S, 1040, and multi-state returns (including California and New York)
- International tax experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently from start to finish
- Ability to delegate tasks where appropriate to maximize team efficiency
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with people of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Experience working with high-wealth individuals preferred
- Accumulate, analyze, and process financial accounting data in order to prepare tax returns, estimated tax payments, forecasts, and financial accounting estimates of tax
- Drafting responses and communicating directly with the IRS and state taxing authorities in response to notices received by our clients
- Ensure client adherence to compliance-related deadlines such as extensions, tax estimate requirements, tax return filings, and other tax-related services
- Understand and research basic to moderately complex tax concepts and their application to client situations; communicate results with client
- Strong Client Communication Skills
- Ability to build and manage client relationships, lead with empathy
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and to manage other team members professionally
- Be able to coach and direct to get results
- Extremely proficient with tax preparation software & excel
- Electronic/online research tools (experience with RIA a plus)
- Experience with Corporations of all types and sizes
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
